I want to share this cool little video with you this week....

We are always quick to label experiences as good or bad. It's only later down the line when we look back that we often change our minds. Sometimes 'bad' situations lead us to better things. Likewise, what we initially think is a 'good' situation might lead us to misery. We can never be certain what the outcome will be, so to label it is futile.

Think back to a couple of times in your life when you were disappointed because something 'bad' had happened. Of course, you can't deny that you felt awful at the time, and rightly so. But can you think of any good things that came from it? Perhaps it led you to a better opportunity, or taught you an important lesson that's helped you later on in life.

Vice versa, have there been times that you thought that the best thing had happened to you only to find, a few months down the line, that maybe it wasn't so great? Relationships are a prime example of this...almost every messy break up started with rainbows and butterflies!

So as you can see, nothing is black and white. Labelling events as good or bad are only half truths of a whole. Whilst feeling happy or sad in reaction to an event is natural, getting too attached to labelling experiences as purely good or bad only feeds our ego; our false sense of identity.

When you remove the labels, you effectively remove the power an experience has over you. Your moods are no longer held hostage by what's going on around you. When you ztop letting events define you as a person, you starve the ego. Remove the labels and suddenly you'll find yourself in peaceful flow with the ever changing nature of life. Nothing is 'good' or 'bad' any longer, it just is. Okay sometimes this much easier said than done, but if you can master it... what a liberating way to live!

Shout out to Manny for sharing this awesome video with me, knowing I'd love it straight away. I am so lucky to have so many sources of inspiration around me!

Miri x
