Why Personal Development Won't Fix Your Life

If you're anything like me, you're super into personal development. You strive to learn how to be the best version of yourself and how to create an amazing, meaningful and fulfilling life.

What can be frustrating though, is how you can accumulate so much knowledge, but you still can't seem to get your sh*t together, at least not consistently. You still have bad days (/weeks/months). There are still times when you feel lost, unmotivated and uninspired. There are times when you feel like the WORST version of yourself.

Why is this? How can you know so much but still not be able to keep your life together? Is there any point in personal development if it's not going to fix your life? These were questions often asked myself during my low points. In the video below I explain how I made peace with this internal struggle.

It was this quote that made me rethink my struggle and the whole purpose of personal development.

Nothing in nature blooms all year, not even you. Life is never perfectly balanced; it's a continuous flow of ups and downs. To feel down, lost and anxious are all natural and inevitable states of being, no matter how much personal development stuff you know. However, what personal development does do, is give you the skills, self awareness and perspectives to bounce back from these low points much faster than you would if you didn't know them. It teaches you to find growth, wisdom and gratitude in every situation.

The bottom line is, personal development won't magically 'fix' your life, but it will make the ride a more beautiful one.

I'd love to know, what is the biggest impact Personal Development has had on your life? Comment under this post!
